Raziya, the spouse of Shehzad, who was detained on allegations of espionage for Pakistan, disclosed in an exclusive interview that her husband had traveled to Pakistan multiple times. The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) claims that Shehzad, a businessman, was also implicated in facilitating sleeper cells for the ISI while posing as a trader.
Details from Raziya
In her conversation, Raziya, hailing from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, made several significant claims. She stated that Shehzad's trips to Pakistan were primarily for purchasing ladies' suit fabric. Furthermore, she contended that the accusations against her husband were unfounded.
Charges Against Shehzad
The ATS has arrested Shehzad on charges of espionage for the Pakistani intelligence agency. He is also accused of smuggling cosmetics, clothing, and spices across the India-Pakistan border. Allegations suggest that he was involved in anti-national activities, including providing sleeper cells for the ISI under the guise of trade.
ATS Findings
The UP ATS reported that Shehzad, son of Abdul Bahab, was apprehended at the Moradabad border in Rampur district based on reliable intelligence. They noted that he maintained close ties with ISI agents and shared sensitive information regarding India's security. Following the verification of this intelligence, the ATS took Shehzad into custody and filed a case at their police station in Lucknow.
Collaboration with ISI
Investigations by the ATS revealed that Shehzad had provided funds to ISI agents in India on several occasions, acting on their directives. He allegedly facilitated the travel of individuals from Rampur and other regions of Uttar Pradesh to Pakistan under the pretext of smuggling, with ISI agents arranging their visas. Additionally, he supplied Indian SIM cards to these agents for espionage activities against India.
